Perfect for a weekend getaway
We had dinner at the restaurant which was great, with options that really hit the spot. The breakfast was a real treat too, with refillable hot drinks, an absolute win for those who need their caffeine fix.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but you know what? Totally worth it.

What a great getaway with my friends! We loved the history of the inn, especially the educational film about its myths and legends. The gardens with stunning views of Bodmin Moor were a perfect spot to relax, and the kids enjoyed the play area. Breakfast was solid, and the service was friendly.
The only downside was that getting to the north or south coast took longer than expected, which made some day trips complicated.

Great stay with beautiful views
Had a lovely one-night stay. The room was super comfy with amazing views right from the wooden deck. It was a treat to have such good pub food in the restaurant. Just a bummer that we had to pay to enter the museum after dropping so much on the stay and food. But still worth it!

The setting was lovely, with beautiful gardens overlooking Bodmin Moor and a fun children's play area. We enjoyed watching the educational film about the history of the Inn, which revealed fascinating tales of wreckers and smugglers. Plus, it was convenient to have our little dog with us!
My wife says that the food service could be quicker, especially for families with kids. The meal took longer than expected, and some dishes were forgotten, which made it a bit challenging for us during dinner.

missingWrote a review on 30 Julhistorical charmcomfortable amenitiesstunning viewsslow service
The historical charm of the place stands out with its heavy wood decor and an authentic atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. The newly renovated room offers comfort with modern amenities like USB plug sockets and a large TV, along with a stunning view of the surrounding hills.
Service at peak times can be a struggle, with long waits for food orders and a crowded bar area making it tough to unwind. The dining menu leans heavily on basic pub fare, which can feel uninspired, and breakfast options seemed lackluster at times. There’s also a noticeable absence of attractions within walking distance, limiting evening adventures.
